Exposed Aggregate is the most preferred concrete option for new developments where the design and decorative elements are key.
The concrete mix itself contains a selection of coarse aggregate stones, which vary in type, size and colour, depending on the mix you select. The installation process involves pouring as normal, but then washing away the outer layer of concrete to reveal the aggregate beneath.
The results can be spectacular, with the option to match the colours within the mix to the main palette of your property, picking up the most predominant tones and blending in seamlessly. Not only does exposed aggregate concrete look fantastic, it also has a natural non-slip / skid finish due to the texture of the surface once exposed.

*Please Note - There are many local tradies offering “Exposed Aggregate”, but are actually just pouring a plain concrete slab and surface seeding the stones on top, and leaving them to set. Whilst this can look fine on day one, it is inevitable that the stones will be displaced or become loose, leaving you with empty patches over time. We do not offer surface seeding to our clients, as we do not find it to be a durable and long lasting option.
Finishing exposed aggregate requires a high level of skill and precision, to ensure that the final result has even exposure, is completely level to requirements, and shows no cloudiness once sealed. In addition to this, we only work with highly reputable suppliers, ensuring that the concrete mix itself is perfect to start with.
