Permeable Concrete
We now also offer supply and installation of permeable concreting. Often required as per council planning directives around tree protection zones, and bringing many benefits including:-
- Prevents potentially harmfull stormwater run off from entering waterways
- Prevention of ground dry-out, as water passes through concrete to be absorbed into ground beneath
- Reduction in overall surface temperature
- Strong and durable, suitable for residential and commercial use
Permeable concrete is a great option for both residential and commercial areas, where large trees are present, drainage options are limited, or you just want to do your bit for the environment.
The difference between a standard concrete mix and a permeable mix, is that the smaller aggregates are omitted, creating many interlocking voids throughout the surface and within the slab allowing water to percolate into the soil to filter out pollutants and recharge the water table.
The results look great, with the option of adding coloured oxide to the mix, to match in with surrounding concrete if required. Councils are becoming more and more in favour of permeable sections to driveways and large concrete areas, but that doesn't mean you need to compromise the overall aesthetic of your area.

* Permable concreting requires skill and experience
In order to learn how to install permeable concrete in the most efficeint way, and to achieve the the best finish, we sought consultation from Martin Cook, Managing Director of WATERPAVE, and one of the leading figures in the development of permeable concreting systems.
Martin has attended sites with us to oversee and mentor our team to achieve the very high standards required.
We work only with approved suppliers, as endorsed by Waterpave for their quality and consistency.
