- Stipple / Trowel Finishing - Adds a decorative element to the surface whilst also providing a non-slip finish. Great for driveways and walkways.- Stencilling - There are many stencil options available that each provide a different finishing effect, which can be simple or more complex, depending on your preference.- Broom Finish - A popular option for walkways and specified by many councils for pavements and crossovers. Broom finishing literally means that the surface is finished with a stiff broom, creating fine straight lines and ridges throughout the concrete which provide a non-slip tread underfoot.- Bull Float - A bull float is a large steel trowel which can provide a very smooth finish to concrete, provided it is carried out by an experienced and highly skilled concretor. Given the smooth nature of the finish, the surface is often coated with a non-slip seal, to provide grip and protect the slab.
Coloured Concrete
Coloured concrete is essentially the same as plain concrete, but with a colour pigment added to the mix so the colour runs through the concrete itself. Colouring the concrete mix safeguards against highly visible scratches, chips and cracks that may appear over time, and is a much better long term solution than applying colour sealant to plain concrete.
Whilst it may fade naturally over time, it will not require regular coating and maintenance like a colour seal, and will not wear off on high traffic areas.
